The Hong Kong street punk Chung Tien (Li Can Sen), who comes from a poor background, is confused about the future but is generous and loyal. He treats the intellectually disabled boy A-Lung (Li Dong Quan), who is often bullied, like family and protects him. However, while he lies in the hospital severely injured by his enemies, A-Lung, sent by the boss to smuggle drugs, is killed. Two girls whose lives intersected with his—the high school student Ah Shan (Tam Ka Chuan), who leaves behind two suicide notes before jumping from a building, and the dying girl Ah Ping (Yen Hsu Tzu), whom he loves but cannot get a suitable kidney for her terminal illness—intensify his despair in youth. The only path he seems to have is to resign himself to fate.
