After years of conquest, the generation's emperor Ming Chengzu Zhu Di (played by Wang Xingang) personally leads a campaign to pacify the northwest, achieving great success. On the way back to court, Zhu Di rejects the proposal of the commander of the Jinyiwei, Ji Gang, to conquer the fifteen countries of Nanyang, deciding instead to recuperate and ensure the peace of the people. He follows the teachings of the late emperor and intends to send envoys to establish friendly relations. Coincidentally, King of Sulu (played by Weike) is intent on coming to the capital for an audience. Meanwhile, the Kingdom of Sulu is building large ships in preparation for the scheduled voyage, but tribal chief Ayub has ulterior motives and obstructs everything.
