Xia Rushu (played by Sammi Cheng) suddenly learns of her father's (played by Eric Tsang) death one day, and from this discovers that she has two half-sisters, Ruzhi (played by Lai Yayan) and Ruguo (played by Li Xiaofeng), in Taipei and Chongqing respectively. The three sisters, each coming from different regions and having distinct personalities, meet for the first time at their father's funeral. Though strangers, they are bound by blood and each faces the wounds of their parents' divorce and the uncertainties of life; Rushu resolutely decides to continue running the hot pot restaurant left by her father, gaining an opportunity to understand him anew. The three sisters grow up entangled in the loves and hates of the previous generation, and through their broken family relationships, they come to know and support each other, finding the courage to rebuild their relationships and heal their wounds.
