The film is based on the life of the famous British female writer, Alice Munro. Alice (played by Kate Winslet) has had a heart full of passion and inspiration since childhood. Her avant-garde thoughts and progressive theories have influenced the way a generation thinks. The taciturn scholar, John (played by Hugh Bonneville), captures Alice's heart, and their romance is both ardent and enduring, becoming an inspiring story known by many. Unfortunately, Alice develops amnesia, and her memories fade away over time. This irreversible condition casts a shadow over both Alice and John's souls, yet it does not shake the solid bond they share. Faced with his gravely ill wife, John not only remains steadfast but also takes on the responsibilities of the entire family. A relationship spans forty years; appearances may change and memories may fade, but love endures forever.
