The unremarkable Ali (Matthias Schoenaerts) was once a successful fighter, but after an injury, he lost his means of livelihood. In a state of desperation, he moves in with his sister, bringing his son Sam (Armand Verdure) along, and finds a job as a bodyguard. One night, Ali meets the beautiful Stephanie (Marion Cotillard), who is involved in a dispute with others. Stephanie is an orca trainer, but this girl, who lives a carefree life surrounded by glamour, loses her legs during a routine performance involving the orca. The lives of these two individuals, having experienced very different fates, inadvertently intersect... This film is adapted from the short story collection of the same name by Canadian author Craig Davidson and won the Best Actor award (Matthias Schoenaerts), Best Director award, and Best Screenplay award at the 2012 Valladolid International Film Festival in Spain.
