It tells the story of Mao Shanhao leading his apprentices Qiuseng and Wencai to open a shop and hunt monsters in Qinglong Town. Wencai seeks help from his senior brother to marry the daughter of a wealthy man, while Qiuseng takes a risk to find the legendary Yellow Monster to borrow money. The human and the monster meet without fighting and develop mutual affection. The captain of the security team in Qinglong Town, Hu Biao, insists on displaying an ancient sacred object, the Killing Monster, at the World Expo despite Mao Shanhao’s objections, resulting in chaos at the police station. When Mao Shanhao rushes to rescue, a small mistake allows the Killing Monster to escape and wreak havoc at the World Expo. Mao Shanhao leads his apprentices to battle, but they are no match for the monster. In a critical moment, the Yellow Monster appears, sacrificing itself to destroy the sacred object and save the citizens of Qinglong Town.
