In the Year of Gengzi, the celestial phenomenon of the "Four Stars Converging" signifies the omen of a change in dynasty. Cao Cao (played by Chow Yun-fat) and his subordinate, especially his son Cao Pi (played by Qiu Xiaozhi), hope to seize this opportunity to have Emperor Xian abdicate and for Cao Cao to ascend to the throne; at the same time, the forces opposing Cao Cao also intensify their actions.
