Mark (Hanno Koffler) is about to become a riot police officer. He and his girlfriend are expecting a child, and life seems to be going smoothly. During his police academy training, Mark meets his roommate, Kay (Max Riemelt). The two run, swim, and smoke marijuana together, and Mark feels an unprecedented sense of ease. As they develop feelings for each other, Mark finally realizes the latent desire for same-sex affection within himself. When Kay applies to transfer to Mark's police unit, they discover that their feelings are mutual. The unprecedented excitement disrupts Mark's comfortable life, and he becomes a different person in the eyes of his family and girlfriend. Mark's world is entering a vacuum, and he begins to experience a free fall in his life... German director Stephan Lacant's feature debut is an emotionally rich coming-of-age film, selected for the “Perspectives on Germany” section of the 63rd Berlin Film Festival. What price must one pay to be true to oneself? Should one be loyal to family and responsibility, or to one's own heart?
