The film tells the story of Zhu Xiaolian, the greatest painter in Jiangnan, who enters the world of wall paintings inhabited by spirits through ancient temple murals. He meets Wei Sheng, the first woman who wishes to paint his portrait, but unexpectedly disrupts the Sparrow Demon’s conspiracy. During their battle against the Sparrow Demon, they fall in love and learn that Wei Sheng's true identity is actually the Phoenix Goddess.
