Female accountant Yella (played by Nina Hoss) faces a life crisis. After divorcing her violent husband Ben (played by Hinnerk Schönemann), she finds a new job at the Alpha Aircraft Factory in Hanover. On the day of her departure, Ben, eager to win back his ex-wife, shows up and insists on driving Yella to the train station. Along the way, they have a heated argument, and an agitated Ben crashes through a bridge railing, driving the car into the river. Yella manages to climb ashore, disregarding her wet clothes and Ben beside her, and she runs towards the train station with her bag. However, bad luck strikes when her supervisor, who initially introduced her to the company, gets fired, leaving Yella without a job once again. By chance, Yella meets venture capital manager Philipp (played by Devid Striesow), and her life begins to take a turn... This film won the Best Actress award at the 2007 Berlin International Film Festival.
