Erik (Espen Klouman-Høiner) and Philip (Anders Danielsen Lie) are longtime friends with a strong bond. They share a common dream of becoming writers and work hard towards it. Philip's first draft creates a stir in the cultural circle as soon as it's sent out, instantly making him a hotshot in the industry, while Erik's manuscript sinks without a trace. Philip, successful in his career, also finds love easy; he plans a vacation to Paris with his girlfriend Keri (Viktoria Winge). However, it isn't long before he is overwhelmed by emptiness, and despite his quickly achieved success, he develops depression and is hospitalized. Throughout his treatment, Erik stays by Philip's side, caring for and encouraging him while not forgetting his own dreams.
