12-year-old DJ (Mitchel Musso) is a guy with a vivid imagination. He spends his days thinking that the abandoned old house across the street owned by the creepy old man is eerie and that some objects in the vicinity often go missing. After careful observation, DJ discovers that the items that have gone missing have been consumed by the old house, and he suspects that the old man's missing wife has also been eaten, at least that’s what DJ thinks. However, adults and even his friends think DJ is just daydreaming. One day before Halloween, DJ and his friend Chowder (Sam Lerner) accidentally throw a basketball in front of the old house, and they watch in horror as a mysterious force pulls the basketball inside. Even their new friend Jenny (Spencer Locke) almost becomes a tasty treat for the old house. Now, the friends believe DJ's story, but the adults still think they are just joking. To stop the house from continuing its evil deeds and eating people, the friends decide to band together and fight back.
