Gao Ge (played by Sheng Yilun) is a tech-savvy宅男 from the 90s, filled with peculiar ideas that most people cannot understand. Gao Ge's mother has always believed that he is the child of her and the famous singer Luo Dayou. This woman even plans to make this fact public; to stop his mother’s crazy actions, Gao Ge takes her to Shenzhen, claiming that he wants to confront Luo Dayou in person. Little did he know, upon arriving in Shenzhen, Gao Ge gets separated from his mother. Accompanied by friends Yu Wei (played by Guo Shutong) and Dou Dou, Gao Ge embarks on a journey to find his mother and eventually reunites with his mother’s former co-workers. From them, Gao Ge is shocked to learn that the past his mother spoke of, which he deemed nonsensical, actually happened, and beneath his mother’s ordinary exterior lies a crazy past that even he envies.
