12-year-old boy Tešana (Uros Milovanovic) lives with his inventive grandfather (Aleksandar Bercek) in a remote rural village in Belgrade. One day, the grandfather calls Tešana to his side and hopes that his grandson will fulfill three wishes before he dies: 1) to sell the family cow Čevetka in the city; 2) to buy an image of St. Nicholas with the money earned; 3) to bring back a wife. Naïve and a bit clumsy, Tešana ventures into the city. First, he is robbed of his cow by a villain, and then he encounters the beautiful high school student Jasna (Marija Petronijevic). With the help of two grandsons of his grandfather's friend, Tešana manages to retrieve the cow and buys the icon; hence he decides to marry Jasna. However, this leads him into a chaotic battle with the gangsters...
