During World War II, four children come to the countryside with their parents to escape the war. These country homes are quaint, and one of the rooms contains a large wardrobe. One day, while playing hide and seek, Lucy (Georgie Henley) hides in the wardrobe and unexpectedly discovers a magical world—snow-covered and desolate. As she walks through the snow, she encounters a half-man, half-goat creature. Other children also enter the magical wardrobe one by one. They learn that the kingdom inside is called Narnia, which is being ruled by an evil witch. The witch aims to capture these outsiders, while the children, realizing Narnia is under the witch's dark rule, join forces with the great lion Aslan to help Narnia begin its restoration.
