Bo Zai Gao (Chow Yun-fat), A Zhan (Leslie Cheung), and Hong Dou (Cherie Chung) are orphans who become international thieves under the guidance of their adoptive father (Tsang Kong). As they grow up, they turn into art thieves who help him make money, and they also recognize a police officer (Chu Ko) as their godfather. In the Paris Museum, the famous painting "The Maid of Herlin" is stolen. At the same time, A Hai, A Zhan, and Hong Dou use their agile skills to steal another famous painting. While negotiating with the French boss, they learn that the painting "The Maid of Herlin" is located in a haunted castle. After successfully stealing the painting under the arrangement of Tsang Kong, they fall into a trap set by the original culprit Tsang Kong in collusion with the French boss, who sends people to hunt them down. A Hai crashes his car into a killer's speedboat... The trio gets separated, and years later, they reunite in Hong Kong. A Hai is "paralyzed" and living in Chu Ko's home, while A Zhan and Hong Dou are now married. Tsang Kong forces them to steal paintings again...
