In 1939, under Nazi Germany's rule, the SS enforced segregation and governance over the Jews in Poland. German businessman Oskar Schindler (played by Liam Neeson) arrived in Kraków, which was under German control, and opened an enamelware factory to produce military supplies. With his exceptional social skills and a significant amount of money, Schindler established a good relationship with the German army, and his factory employed Jews, allowing him to profit from the war. In 1943, the Jews of Kraków faced a horrific massacre, and Schindler, witnessing the atrocities, was profoundly shaken. He bribed officers to turn his factory into a sub-camp of a concentration camp, and during those dark days of rampant slaughter, his factory also became a refuge for Jews. In 1944, just before Germany's defeat, the extermination of the Jews became increasingly frenzied. Schindler presented a list of 1,200 names to German officials and spent his fortune buying the lives of these Jews. In those bleak years, saving one person meant saving the entire world.
