One night in 1945, when Roy Neary (played by Richard Dreyfuss) was loading a truck, he was suddenly engulfed by a mysterious light, and strange visions along with five musical notes kept swirling in his mind. Can he uncover the meaning of these visions, and who placed them in his mind? Meanwhile, the U.S. government had some contact with interstellar visitors and identified their landing site. To cover up the truth, the government asked people to stay away from the area. However, a group of people, including Roy, were drawn to this place by their shared visions. On Devil's Mountain in the desert, above a makeshift base constructed by the Air Force, the aliens arrived as promised. Their spaceship, shining in bright colors, illuminated half the sky. Humanity played music deciphered from the alien messages received from space as a means of communication, and the doors of the spaceship opened. The previously missing Earthlings returned to their homeland, while a group of small-bodied aliens came among the humans to communicate spiritually...
