Surrounded by the vast ocean, Amami Oshima witnesses the turbulent moments of youth through Kaidou (played by Kōtarō Murakami) and the girl, Anko (played by Junko Yoshinaga). On a full moon night, Kaidou witnesses a tattooed man floating in the sea in his final moments, which deeply moves him. Disgusted by his mother (played by Makiko Watanabe) and the men’s entanglements, he decides to visit his father (played by Jun Murakami) in Tokyo. Anko's mother (played by Miyuki Matsuda) is a highly respected witch among the islanders, but even a witch cannot escape the fate of life and death. As her mother falls gravely ill, Anko's restrained heart begins to crumble. The sorrows of the young couple are compounded by the sounds of waves, winds, songs, and piano music, merging into an anthem of life... This film marks the screen debut of actor Jun Murakami and his son Kōtarō Murakami, born to former singer UA.
