Growing up overnight is probably every child's dream, as being grown up means being free. 12-year-old Guangzi is even more eager to grow up than other children because his mother has just died by accidental suicide, and his father has brought in a new mother. Guangzi is shocked to find that since his mother died, he has stopped growing taller; everything is the fault of his father and the new mom, and Guangzi has always believed this in his heart. One day, Guangzi meets a mysterious person in the park. The mysterious person claims to have a magical potion that can make Guangzi grow up overnight. Guangzi indeed transforms into a young man in his 20s overnight, and Guangzi (played by Andy Lau) finally sees his dream come true, finally able to escape from his father and the new mom. Excited, Guangzi begins to pursue his dream girl — his teacher Miss Lee (played by Gigi Leung).
