Summer of 1989, East Germany. Adam is a tailor, and Evelyn is a waitress. They are planning to go on vacation together when Evelyn discovers Adam's infidelity, leading her to decide to go on vacation alone. She follows Adam to Hungary. As the border with Austria gradually shrinks, everything changes in Hungary. With Adam and Evelyn deciding in which world—East or West—they want to establish new possibilities for a happy life, the borders of the world are open.
