In New York City in 2044, the villain Rung is colluding with alien forces to attempt to destroy Earth. A large number of aliens invade through a mysterious portal, turning the city into ashes. Despite the Ninja Turtles' fierce resistance, they are unable to withstand the enemy's onslaught, suffering heavy casualties. With the strongest weapon of a ninja—hope— the Ninja Turtles decide to travel back in time to find the key to open the portal, stop Rung, and restore peace to the world.
