He is a cat in boots (voiced by Antonio Banderas), who has been a heroic figure for years, wandering the world, skilled in swordsmanship, bold and charming. Although he is a wanted criminal, he has never been afraid, remaining composed. In an unfriendly tavern, Puss hears that Jack (voiced by Billy Bob Thornton) and Jill (voiced by Amy Sedaris), a pair of wicked villains, have obtained the legendary magic beans, which grow into a beanstalk leading to a giant's palace, where a goose that lays golden eggs resides. Puss decides to take the risk to steal the magic beans but is thwarted by a mysterious black cat. Lured by the black cat, he arrives at a gathering of cats and unexpectedly meets his old friend Humpty Dumpty (voiced by Zach Galifianakis) from the orphanage. The black cat turns out to be the seductive kitty named Kitty Softpaws (voiced by Salma Hayek). Humpty Dumpty hopes to team up with Puss to get the golden-egg-laying goose...
