The film tells a story that emphasizes the importance of "remembering revolutionary discipline at all times." A certain company in the First Red Army is known for its bravery and military prowess, having achieved remarkable victories repeatedly. However, this company has a significant flaw: it does not adhere closely to rules and frequently violates military regulations. Both the company commander Xu Hao and the deputy commander have a harsh tone in their speech, which has led to strained relations between the military and civilians. In light of this situation, Mao Zedong, who was the division commander at the time, appointed party representative Li Ying (played by Gao Lu, the lead actress in "When the Flowers Bloom") to instill discipline in the company. Initially, the company personnel were quite resistant to this female party representative, making Li Ying's task incredibly challenging. Later, a situation involving a young soldier named Zhuzi touched company commander Xu Hao; he realized that this party representative was very kind and developed a subtle affection for her. To redeem themselves, the company ingeniously completed the combat mission assigned by their superiors while heading south. However, due to the deputy commander's repeated violation of military regulations, the party representative ultimately lost her life. In the face of military law, the deputy commander was executed, and the film ends with significant symbolism.
