A violent clash occurred in a rural village due to forced land acquisition and demolition. Villager Chang Qing was arrested by the police for accidentally killing a demolition worker during the conflict, which caused great dissatisfaction among the villagers. They also reflected on the collusion between officials and businessmen, demanding a serious investigation into the corrupt officials who profited illegally from this situation. The city procuratorate's investigation and supervision section, led by rookie prosecutor Zhang Yun (played by Che Xiao), discovered numerous contradictions in the materials submitted for Chang Qing’s intentional injury case. She cooperated with Gu Changfeng (played by Lin Baoyi), the director of the anti-corruption bureau responsible for investigating the dereliction of duty behind the urban village incident. Gu remained undeterred and received selfless help from Zhang Yun, with whom he had long harbored feelings. Ultimately, thanks to Zhang Yun's stringent oversight, Chang Qing's "intentional injury resulting in death" case was classified as self-defense, leading to his acquittal. Many illegal businessmen and corrupt officials fell into the law's grasp, while Jin Yuting attempted to flee abroad with embezzled money. However, Zhang Yun faced retaliation when Ma Yicheng's wife set her on fire with gasoline for enforcing the law...
