Evan (played by Guy Pearce) is a respected university professor with a very virtuous wife. In both family life and career, Evan is undoubtedly a model in the eyes of his friends. However, in reality, Evan is a gentleman with flaws, entangled in ambiguous relationships with many of his female students. One day, a student named Joyce (played by Odeya Rush) dies under mysterious circumstances. Joyce's death quickly catches the attention of detective Malloy (played by Pierce Brosnan), and as the investigation deepens, various clues point the suspicion towards Evan. Although Malloy has serious doubts about Evan, he cannot find solid evidence to convict him. Meanwhile, Evan's wife is also aware of her husband's lewd activities.
