Before the Iranian New Year, a little girl named Nasrin (played by Aida Mohammadkhani) goes to the market with her mother to buy New Year supplies. While passing by a snake charmer's stall, she notices a crowd gathered and, squeezing in, finds out he is urging people to pay to see a snake show and selling big goldfish. Nasrin desperately wants to buy a goldfish, but due to their poor financial situation, her mother only has 500 tomans for the New Year, and a fish costs 100 tomans, so she has to take Nasrin home. Nasrin attempts to bargain with her mother using the New Year gift, but is firmly refused. Disappointed, she asks her brother for help, and he persuades their mother to give her the 500 tomans. Nasrin puts the money in a small fish jar and excitedly runs back to the snake charmer's stall, ready to fulfill her wish. However, things take a sudden turn...
