This film is based on true events. In the late 19th century, Ignacio de la Torre married Porfirio Diaz's daughter, the Mexican president. Ignacio led a double life: he was rising in the traditional political world while also being a member of a secret society. He maintained this delicate balance until he met the society’s 42nd member, Evaristo. One time, a party he hosted (also known as the "Secret Dance 41") was raided by the police, leading to a scandal that caused an uproar.
