The complacent white-collar youth Xue Kezheng (played by Huang Zongze) is framed and loses his job, while his girlfriend of many years, Yi Na (played by Deng Lixin), breaks up with him, suddenly turning him into a double-loss youth overnight. Under the introduction of childhood friend Zai (played by Hong Tianming) and his recently released brother Ke Yong (played by Chen Weiting), he accidentally enters a financial company as a gold broker. The two brothers witness the various aspects of life in this field and the ugliness of money; Ke Yong later meets and marries Yao Jingyou (YoYo) (played by Chen Jiahua) at the company.
