The talented yet misunderstood engineer Giorgio hits rock bottom in his life. He gets fired, his parents stop talking to him, and after an unexpected incident leads to him and his girlfriend getting arrested (long story...), she leaves him. Tired of the bleak Italian society of the late 60s, Giorgio devises an impossible plan; he wants to build his own island in the sea. With the joining of a group of rebels and outcasts, the Republic of Rose Island is established and declares independence, with Giorgio appointed as president. However, their team's values and adaptability will be put to the test, as the Italian Prime Minister views Giorgio's ideal island as Italy's number one enemy. "Rose Island," directed by Sidney Sibilia (of the "Breaking Bad" trilogy), produced by Grøenlandia ("The First King"), is a comedy based on a true story filled with a rebellious spirit.
