A sudden phenomenon of gold loss appears in various countries, while black market trading of gold thrives. The British Intelligence suspects the world’s wealthy magnate Goldfinger is involved in black market gold trading, as he owns a large bank in Geneva where many countries have substantial gold reserves. 007 Bond (Sean Connery) begins an investigation into Goldfinger. Bond follows Goldfinger to Geneva and discovers his secret of smuggling gold out; he re-melts gold to create car bodies to obtain gold bars. Bond is discovered by Goldfinger's henchmen and is captured. In an unexpected turn of events, Bond learns of a shocking plan Goldfinger is about to implement: he plans to use a plane to spread poison gas to kill the bank’s military presence, then blow up the bank, using a small nuclear bomb to cause the world’s gold reserves to become contaminated and uncirculated, thus providing massive profits for black market gold trading. Although Bond learns of Goldfinger’s entire scheme, he is in prison and unable to inform the outside world. Will Goldfinger's conspiracy succeed?
