The young and beautiful ballet dancer Matilda Kshesinskaya captures the attention of Crown Prince Nicholas with her calm demeanor during a sudden incident in a performance, along with her alluring eyes and graceful dance. Also infatuated with Matilda are the royal relative Duke Andrei and the zealous radical Vorontsov, who is willing to attack the crown prince out of jealousy.
