The story takes place in the 1930s when a secret meeting of the Communist Party is raided by the Kuomintang, resulting in the unfortunate arrest of many underground party members. The leader of the underground party, Wang Feng (played by Tony Leung Ka-fai), assigns an urgent task because the important party mission "Ace" is among those arrested.
