The friendship of the girls written on the jeans is tender and extraordinarily warm. Maybe it's God's arrangement that the fates of the four girls—Carmen, Tibby, Lena, and Bridget—were destined even before they were born. Born in late summer, their personalities are vastly different, yet they grew up as close as sisters. That summer at the age of sixteen, the four sisters faced separation for the first time, each spending a summer without the others. Unexpectedly, they discovered a pair of jeans that fit all four of them, despite their differing body shapes. Thus, the magical jeans transformed into a token of friendship, accompanying them as they began their individual journeys. The bold and carefree Bridget (played by Blake Lively) travels to hot Mexico to join a soccer training camp; the beautiful and shy Lena (played by Alexis Bledel) goes to sacred Greece to paint the mysteries of the Aegean Sea; the impulsive and sensitive Carmen hopes to spend a wonderful summer with her father, who moved away during her childhood, while the rebellious and alternative Tibby (played by Amber Tamblyn) busies herself recording her own television show. The jeans carry friendship and courage, passing between them, helping them learn to love and grow.
