In 1987, South Africa, a nineteen-year-old boy chases a small truck on a rainy night, forces all the occupants into a dead end, and shoots them one by one. Afterwards, he arranges the bodies in a row, with the motive remaining unclear. It was an era accustomed to hangings, and despite having no memory of the crime itself, the boy must take responsibility with his life. The defense attorney, played by Steve Coogan, tries to uncover the motive behind the boy's silence but unearths an even more shocking truth...
