Mary and her husband were traditional Muslims living in the UK, loving each other for forty years, when suddenly and without warning, her husband passed away. They once had a child and enjoyed life as a family of three, but now she is left all alone. The pain has yet to fade, and Mary unexpectedly discovers photos of a stranger and records of intimate conversations. Following the clues to Calais, France, just thirty-four kilometers away, she finds another French woman who has been living with her husband for many years, and the woman not only does not recognize Mary but is also unaware that the man they share is no longer alive. In a twist of fate, Mary becomes the other's helper, stepping into her small home and into her husband’s secret life.
