Elderly couple Ben (John Lithgow) and George (Alfred Molina) have been together for nearly forty years. After same-sex marriage was legalized in New York State, they finally get to have a picturesque wedding in Manhattan, pledging to spend their lives together. However, this decision leads the church school to find grounds to dismiss George. Without a source of income, the two struggle to afford their apartment rent and are forced to leave their beloved home, residing with different friends and family. The warm blessings from their wedding quickly turn into a reality check of human relationships. As they rush to find a new home, their long-distance living also tests their decades-long love. Director Ira Sachs, who won the Teddy Award at the Berlin Film Festival for "Keep the Lights On," presents his latest work "Love Is Strange," which is not just a gay film; it tells the story of a life shared together, allowing audiences to feel the quietly flowing love amidst various troubles and trivialities.
