Every train driver kills over 20 people during their career, usually due to suicide, mistakes, drunkenness, or simply carelessness. Ilija is a soon-to-retire train driver who has killed 28 people. His 19-year-old adopted son, Sima, has taken over his job and is very worried that he will also kill someone, but the experienced drivers comfort him, saying it will happen within a week. However, weeks go by without any accidents, which leaves him extremely tense. To help him, Ilija finds many people who want to commit suicide, hoping they will jump onto the tracks, but ultimately, these individuals give up on their suicide plans. In desperation, Ilija lies down on the tracks, intending to save Sima through his own death…
