Pan Jinlian is naturally beautiful and was sold as a maid since childhood, later being forced to marry the ugly man Wu Dalang. Dalang's brother Song is born strong and famous for drunkenly defeating the White-Stripe Tiger. Upon seeing Song's tall and handsome figure, Lian boldly expresses her love for him, but he firmly refuses and, to avoid suspicion, leaves for another place. The wealthy merchant Ximen Qing, seeing Lian's beauty, bribes the brothel madam Wang Po to trap her. Angered by Song’s lack of affection, Lian resolutely becomes involved with Qing. To eliminate any future threats, Qing accepts Wang's scheme and poisons Dalang. Upon learning of his brother's murder, Song goes to kill the adulterous couple to avenge his brother.
