War has left the entire world in ruins. A homeless man (played by Stephen Chiau) walks along the road and encounters a poor orphan (played by Wang Wei) who is stealing. The orphan is under the control of a ruthless bully (played by Eric Tsang), who threatens to beat him up if he does not obey. The homeless man sympathizes with the orphan’s plight and takes him in. Later, the homeless man meets a poor singer (played by Wang Hsiu-Wen), and their group becomes three, with a hint of romantic possibility blossoming between the homeless man and the singer. The bully learns that the homeless man has taken his profit-making tool and is furious. He not only kidnaps the orphan but also takes the singer. To save the two, the homeless man teams up with his nemesis, a drunkard (played by Ng Man-tat), to venture into the lion's den and bring the villain to justice.
