Seven-year-old Nora (played by Maya Vanderbeque) is filled with fear of the unknown as she embarks on her first school experience. At the same time, her brother Abel (played by Günter Duret) appears confident at school, but he harbors his own worries and troubles. As the older brother, he needs to take care of his sister while also facing his own challenges. When the school bell rings, Nora feels an unprecedented level of anxiety. She must learn to communicate with strangers in an unfamiliar environment, bravely introduce herself to her classmates, and overcome new challenges such as swimming and walking on a balance beam, which leaves her feeling somewhat overwhelmed. After class, Nora accidentally discovers a little secret about her brother Abel. She wants to tell their dad, but Abel insists that she keeps it a secret. This unexpected discovery confuses Nora, and she begins to ponder how to handle the situation, while also worrying about why her brother wants to keep this from her. School life in this small community is filled with challenges and tests for the siblings. They must confront the pressures of classroom learning, while also navigating relationships with their peers. During this process, will Nora find her sense of belonging in the school?
