Social worker Zhang Jiandong (played by Sun Yaowei) has dedicated many years to serving the homeless, and recently he has been busy with a major event that can give the homeless a sense of pride—the Homeless World Cup! Lantern Street, hidden in a corner of the bustling city, has become a refuge for many homeless people due to its advantageous location. The "residents" here regard the old homeless man known as "Black Magic" as the leader of Lantern Street. Former top-tier player A Rong (played by Zhang Jin) ended up in jail due to gambling and match-fixing; after his release, he found himself with nothing and, feeling hopeless, joined the ranks of the down-and-out led by Da Tou (played by Huang Younan) and A Hua (played by Liu Yida). Zhang Jiandong forms a team with the homeless of Lantern Street, thus giving birth to the Morning Light Football Team. A team made up of homeless individuals inevitably faces various difficulties, yet Zhang Jiandong and the others work hard to resolve training and other issues. Soon they face a challenge from a team of rich kids, officially marking the beginning of the team’s quest to compete everywhere… This film is based on a true story.
