In a small coastal town in the north lives the Liu family, which includes the stubborn and rule-abiding grandfather Liu Shikai, who lives alone in the village; the hard-nosed yet soft-hearted father Liu Weiguo, who cares a lot about his reputation; the doting mother Wang Peifen, who supports her son's interests and is passionate about public welfare; and the grandson Liu Shouchuang, who is struggling to make a living in the south while pursuing his photography dreams. However, the family hasn’t had dinner together in a long time. The annual Guyu Fishermen’s Festival in the fishing village is approaching, but only Liu Shikai and the older generation, including Old Zhang, take the Guyu sea worship ceremony to heart. After three years away, Liu Shouchuang unexpectedly returns with news of his upcoming wedding next month, but this rare opportunity for the family to gather for dinner also causes long-buried conflicts between Liu Shikai and his son Liu Weiguo to surface.
