Anne (played by Sarah Polley), a cleaner who is not yet 24 years old, is diagnosed with cancer and has only two to three months to live. Her husband is the first and only man in her life, having fathered their daughters when she was 17 and 19. Her imprisoned father cannot provide protection for her, and her relationship with her mother is strained. The family of four lives in a trailer, but fortunately, her husband recently got a job building a pool. Anne decides to hide her illness from her family and writes ten wishes before her death, including finding another man who loves her, preparing birthday speeches for her daughters' future birthdays, and spending time with a stepmother, as well as meeting her father and enjoying the rest of her life. Anne unexpectedly meets a surveyor returning from Alaska in the laundry room, and they spark a romance. However, when she introduces her diet-obsessed female colleague to her husband, it ends in failure. Soon, a female neighbor with the same name as Anne arrives, and she seems to be Anne's ideal choice. Everything unfolds step by step, alongside Anne's impending death... This film won multiple awards, including Best Canadian Film at the 2003 Atlantic Film Festival.
