In the Northern Song Dynasty, an ordinary young man, Situ Yaozu (played by Zheng Kai), completes his martial arts training in a prestigious sect. Upon entering society, he discovers the harsh realities of life. He gives up his unpromising job as a constable and heads to the capital, Bianliang, in search of his life's value.
