Rey (played by Mathieu Amalric) is a film director who meets a performing girl named Laura (played by Julia Roy) at an exhibition in a museum. They quickly fall in love and get married, living together in a remote house. However, just a few months later, Rey dies in a motorcycle accident, leaving Laura alone.
