Romeo (Adrian Titieni) and his wife Magda (Lia Bugnar) have been married for many years, raising their daughter Elisa (Maria-Victoria Dragus) together. The long marriage has left both Romeo and Magda feeling exhausted, and Romeo, who has lost all feelings for his wife, pins his only hope on sending Elisa abroad for studies, hoping she can escape this decaying country as soon as possible.
