Tonight, tranquility blankets the forest surrounding the village. As people fall asleep, the forest awakens. The young man Ihjãc, living with the Krahô in northern Brazil, has been having nightmares since his father's death. He walks in darkness, drenched in sweat, each step cautious. Suddenly, a song carries from afar, weaving through the palm trees. It is his deceased father calling him. To grant his father's soul rest and allow it to travel to the land of the dead, he must organize a funeral ceremony. However, Ihjãc neglects his duties and refuses to become a shaman.
