Willy Wonka (Johnny Depp) is a great chocolate inventor and manufacturer running the largest chocolate factory in the world—Wonka Chocolate Factory. It is a mysterious factory with locked doors; for 15 years, no workers have been seen entering or exiting, yet the rich scent of chocolate wafts out. The factory produces Wonka Bars, which are sold worldwide and beloved by children. One day, Mr. Willy Wonka announces that he has hidden five golden tickets inside his chocolate; whoever finds one will get a chance to tour the factory and receive enough chocolate and candies to last a lifetime. Children go crazy trying to buy the chocolates, and ultimately, five lucky kids find the tickets. One of the lucky children is Charlie (Freddie Highmore), who comes from a very poor family. After two failed attempts, he discovers the last golden ticket, thus opening the factory doors for him. The five children embark on an adventure in the magical factory, drawn not only by the wondrous chocolate-making world but also by Willy Wonka's "mysterious gifts"...
