Little reindeer Niko believes his father is a member of Santa Claus's flying team. He often dreams of soaring through the skies like his father, but his attempts repeatedly fail, leading to ridicule from his friends. To fulfill his dream of flying, Niko sneaks off to Reindeer Mountain, a place frequented by wild wolves, to practice, accidentally drawing a pack of black wolves to the valley where the reindeer live. Devastated, Niko leaves the migrating herd to find Santa Claus's home. Meanwhile, the black wolves aim to eat Santa Claus and the flying reindeer, and further target the children waiting for Christmas gifts. Niko unexpectedly hears this news, and danger soon closes in on him...This film won the Audience Award and Best Children's Film at the 2008 Children's Film Festival, the Best Film and Best Screenplay at the 2009 Finnish Film Academy Awards, and a special mention at the C.I.F.E.J.
